OceanSafe Technology
OceanSafe manufactures Steel Structural Insulated panels (SSIPs) for the residential an commercial construction market. The panels are used for exterior and load bearing walls as well as the roof, creating an entire build- ing envelope. Unlike wood based SIP’s OceanSafe SSIP panels protect against mould and insect infestation while also protecting against natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes. All OceanSafe structures are eligible for an exclusive 10 year warranty through AIU (American Inter- national Underwriters) that offers protection from virtually all the forces of nature—water, mold, termites, vermin and wind up to a velocity of 240km/ h.
Benefits of OceanSafe’s Steel SIPs include:
Extremely strong structure: interlocking design reinforces structures
Lower energy bills: require 58-72% less energy.
Improved comfort: superior temperature and acoustic isolation.
Indoor air quality: tight construction and upgraded HVAC systems.
Green building product: recycled content and efficient building methods
Less labour expense: OceanSafe SSIPs cut labour time in half.
OceanSafe Steel SIPs are pressure-laminated 25-gauge Galvalume sheets sandwiched on both sides of a computer cut and routed polyurethane. Walls can be built to nearly any height and a variety of thicknesses and can be placed on a slab or raised foundation. The panels have a pat- ented interlocking system that when used in construction provide great structural integrity against the forces of nature. This also makes installation extremely quick, as most homes can be constructed in less that two weeks and at costs competitive to conventional building methods. OceanSafe also provides training to construction crews for proper installation.
Benefits to builders include:
Speed of construction
Few framers
Shell installation
Rigid frame
Less jobsite waste
Less materials theft
Easier to hang drywall
Fewer framing callbacks
